Hello, I’m Tanya Kancheva. I approach fashion illustration with a love of movement, experimentation and the beauty of the unexpected.My creative journey began with a degree in Fashion Design in Bulgaria, followed by an MA in Textile Design at Chelsea College of Arts, University of the Arts London. My approach to illustration combines a trained eye for detail and composition with a love of experimentation. Working primarily with ink, I introduce water and sometimes coffee into my fashion sketches, allowing unexpected marks, fluid lines and spontaneous gestures to shape the final image. I am particularly drawn to movement, individuality and the expressive qualities of fashion. Rather than aiming for perfect precision, I enjoy the balance between intention and unpredictability, allowing each illustration to develop its own character. Travel is another important source of inspiration. Architecture, music, people and visual culture continually influence the way I observe the world and translate impressions into line, form and movement. Alongside my personal practice, I work with brands and clients to bring fashion illustration into different settings, from live event experiences and guest illustrations to retail environments, packaging and bespoke brand projects.For me, illustration is more than an image on a page. It is a way to capture the energy of a moment, communicate a creative vision and create a connection between fashion, people and the experiences they share.
